    As a former U.S. Air Force Officer, I have the inherent professional attitude, leadership skills and attention to detail required of someone who’s entire purpose is to “fill-in”.

    Evidence-based practice is one of the six core areas of APTA’s Vision 2020.  As a PRN physical therapist working in many specific areas in the field of physical therapy (e.g. pediatrics, geriatrics, orthopedics), it is of the utmost importance that I reinforce my knowledge-base with the latest research results, such that I can perform examinations, evaluations, interventions and develop plans of care that will maximize patient potential, minimize costs and limit any potential claims denials.

    Being a member of the American Physical Therapy Association provides me with unprecedented access to complete and free research articles from many of the leading scientific journals.  All of which allows me to be able to research the latest evidence regarding any particular diagnosis I may come across and establish a plan of care known to effect the greatest positive outcome in the shortest period of time utilizing the least amount of resources.
